I'm a writer and teacher, my natural inclination is to gather information to help people learn. That's what this post is about. I hope this list of books is ready and available for you when your children ask questions, or even better before they do. My children are young and weren't confused by anything in these books.   Before his death, "The Intelligent Investor" author Benjamin Graham was a renowned professor known as the godfather of investing, and Jason Zweig, The Wall Street Journal columnist, adds in some commentary in this revised edition. This book takes a different approach from other investing books, although it’s not without positive encouragement.

As a young man myself, I didn’t really feel qualified to start spewing out advice on what other young men should read. I decided to reach out to industry leaders, teachers and people from all walks of life to discover the best books that every young man should read at least once in their life.   Half of Canadian readers, 50% to be exact, discover the books they read or buy from word of mouth — the holy grail for book publishers everywhere. An equal number of readers discover books by browsing online (38%) or in a physical store (38%). Social media and public libraries both come in at 30% for how readers discover their next read.

Gaby Dunn, author of Bad With Money and host of the podcast of the same name, says, “I like the focus on younger people because a lot of finance books are for upper-class, middle-aged people.”.   $5; buy now at Oscar Wilde, the 19th century novelist, playwright, and taboo breaker, takes on the narcissistic obsession with youth. A young man named Dorian Gray realizes that his beauty will someday fade, and he's upset that a painting of him won't experience the same indignity.
